Unicol County Director of Schools Denise Brown is pleased to announce the inclusion of two Unicoi County Schools on the list of Tennessee Reward Schools. Based on academic achievement as determined by TCAP proficiency levels, Love Chapel Elementary and Unicoi Elementary have been recognized as being among the top 5% of schools in Tennessee. The list is comprised of 169 schools representing 70 of the 136 school districts across the state. Schools are recognized for either academic achievement based on TCAP performance or student growth based upon annual Value Added Data.

Tennessee has set the goal of becoming the fastest improving educational system in the nation. In a year when Tennessee posted record gains in proficiency rates, Love Chapel Elementary and Unicoi Elementary Schools have raised the bar for academic achievement. The Unicoi County Board of Education and Director Brown are proud of the accomplishments of these two schools and are pleased with the progress made for the students of Unicoi County.
