Unicoi County High School Girls Basketball Coach Glenn Fisher tells WEMB News that he will retire as of the end of this season.

After informing UC Director of Schools Denise Brown of his descision, he informed his team Friday afternoon.

Fisher began his head coaching career in the 1980-81 season and established one of best and most consistant girls basketball programs in the state. He took teams to three state tournaments and even played for a state championship in the finals of the 1991 tournament.

His win-loss record, at the end of this season, is an outstanding 668-280. That would average 22 wins and only 9 losses per season.

WEMB`s long-time play-by-play voice of the Lady Devils and Blue Devils, Jim Crawford, congratulated Coach Fisher, calling him "an outstanding coach and friend, who always put his team first."
