The recent rash of daytime burglaries -- four of which happened in Unicoi County on January 29, January 30, and two on February 2 -- have been solved, according to Unicoi County Sheriff Kent Harris.

Harris tells WEMB that thanks to a local informant, the suspicious vehicles sought in the case have been found, and three men have been arrested; one in Unicoi County, one in Jonesborough, and one in Johnson City.

The three are suspected of burglarizing the homes and stealing thousands of dollars of items to support "large drug habits", Harris says. The man arrested in Unicoi County, a convicted felon captured on Interstate 26, was carrying a handgun and a significant amount of cocaine.
