Many local citizens have reported an interest in Governors Bend, Unicoi Countys future assisted living facility on Zane Whitson Drive. Some are eager to have a local facility with so many amenities -- laundry and cleaning services, a 24-hour on-call nursing staff, meals and snacks available round the clock, and multiple therapies available.
Executive Director Johnnie Lyons says that all those features require employees, and several hope to be the first called once the facility opens up. For more information about pre-hiring interviews, or information about residence in the facility, call (423)278-1573.
Construction bids will be out soon, Lyons says. The official groundbreaking took place last summer under the supervision of Governor Phil Bredesen.
